  • Marriage*: She married Hugh Wilson Jr., son of Hugh Wilson and Mary Chambers, in 1818 at Anahilt, County Down, Ireland; came to America on their honeymoon; marriage was witnessed by Andrew Garrett (her aunt's husband) and Andrew Wilson, the eldest of sons. They witnessed the marriage of Mary C. because she was only 16 years old.
    Hugh was a member of the congregation of Dromara, County Dromore and Mary was a member of the congregation of Annahilt, County Down, which are about 55 miles apart. Annahilt is a suburb of Belfast, Dromara is about 55 miles south.
  • Death*: Mary Clockey died on 24 September 1870 at Warner, Washington County, Ohio.
  • Note*: She "was an orphan and reared by her aunt (mother's sister). I think the Andrew Garrett was her aunt's husband and Andrew Wilson the eldest of sons. They witnessed the marriage of Mary C. because she was only 16 years old. They came to America on their honeymoon. Grandmother told wild tales about the difficult crossing - drifting in the Belt of the Calms, etc. These stories from my half brothers - She died years before I was born."
