To my knowledge you are right about David’s wife being Elizabeth. Mary has to be in error.

Yes, Marcum purchased his first tract of land 22 October 1764, therefore he was born before the commonly accepted year of 1750. The deed is recorded in Edgecombe Deed Book C, page 305 with his named as Marcom Cooper. Tim Rackley. He married Sarah Juliette "Sally" Randolph circa 1767 at Edgecombe County, North Carolina. Marcum Cooper died in 1811 at Nash County, North Carolina.
     He was an ancestor of a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Mary Frances Fewel Thompson (DAR # 372469 A-865)
