Orville provided illustrations for six books and for issues of the Living Bird, a journal of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. His painting of the greater prairie chicken was presented to the Topeka Public Library in 1980. Bird paintings he completed while in college are housed in the Texas Memorial Museum at Austin.
