     He , my great-grandfather, died when I was only 4. I do remember him coming on his horse quite often during the winter and sitting behind the old pot bellied stove in the kitchen, chair kicked back against the wall and feet extended toward the stove to get the warm after his ride to our house. When he came to visit, he always had something in his pocket for me and my brother, Gary. It might be a rabbit's foot or an orange or maybe a piece of hard candy, but always something. I really wish that he would have lived longer so I could have really known him. My mother said he was the grandest fellow on earth. That was quite a compliment from her. I understand now that my Grandfather lived on the so called Uncle Will's place and we lived in the original Franklin Cooper house.
