Sylvester Adelbert "Curley" Cooper died on Mar 12, 1994 at New Caney, Montgomery County, Texas, at age 90 and was buried at Hebron Cemetery, DeWitt County.
     He was a Mason, Baptist, farmer and rancher, a cutting horse trainer and showman. He was a member of the Texas Range Riders Drill team and the Texas Salt Grass Trail. He and Lee Daniel Cooper were worked at McCurdy Dairy farm just outside of Cuero, Texas. By virtue of an order of sale and execution issued out of the Honorable County Court of Victoria, Texas, on the 14^th day of July, A. D. 1924, by the Clerk of said Court in the case of J. J. McCutcheon vs Marshall Cooper and S. A. Cooper, No. 2210, and to me as sheriff of Victoria County, directed and delivered. I will proceed to sell, within the hours prescribed by law for judicial sales on Tuesday, the 5^th day of August, A. D., 1924, at the residence of Jim Maxey, on the farm belonging to J. E. Heppenstall, about 18 miles east of the City of Victoria, in Victoria County, the following described property, to-wit:

One set of harness,
One Horse, named Candy, about 14 ½ hands high, about nine years old and sorrel color,
One Saddle.
Levied on as the property of S. A. Cooper to satisfy a judgement amounting to One Hundred, Eighteen and 76.100 ($118.76) Dollars, with interest from January 11^th, 1924, at the rate of eight per cent per annum, in favor of J. J. McCutcheon, and costs of suit.

The 1940 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household on on Apr 25, 1940 Houston; worked as a mechanic in the air conditioning manufacturing industry, wages $1300; owned home, value $1150, highest grade in school H-1; Larry delivered papers. Sylvester Adelbert "Curley" Cooper was a heavy welding supervisor at the Houston Shipyard between 1941 and 1944. Heare listed in City Directory in in 1942 at at Houston; was a mechanic and resided with wife Etta and 2 children. He was a Houston Police Officer for 24 years and was the first to retire from the motorcycle division. He was in the Houston Mounted Patrol and was featured in a police movie. The retirement citation from Houston City Council reads "Officer Cooper has compiled an enviable record, never once bringing discredit upon himself, the Police Department or the City of Houston." He worked in security at the Houston Intercontinental Airport for many years after his retirement from the police department.

     Edna Ruth Cozart married Tommy White. Edna Ruth Cozart was born on Nov 30, 1903. She died on Sep 1, 1986 at age 82.
