He was often allowed to go on the ? roundup in the spring before he was 12 years of age.
To him, while he was a child ?hing was more fascinating than ?lour days and nights out on the range, just to hear the cowboys sing to the cattle to quiet them when the weather becme stormy.
Food cooked over the camp fire and smell of boiling coffee and a hard days work was all the stimulus a man eeds for his appetite.
Mr. Newman drove catle overland to Kansas City, before he was ? years old. in 1937 at Blanche West Creppon, Yorktown, DeWitt County.
