Homer Ray Cooper, 95, of Windsor, Missouri, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo. He was born September 8, 1914, in Johnson County, near Windsor, the son of Charles Vincent “Charlie” Cooper and Charlottie (Elliott) Cooper. On June 19, 1937, in Windsor, he married Evelyn Nadine Dady, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2009. Mr. Cooper was a farmer and raised many animals including cattle and horses. Many years ago he was owner/operator of the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Windsor and he was also a real estate and insurance agent. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization and was a former member of the Windsor IOOF Lodge #187. As a young man he enjoyed boxing, playing the harmonica and juice harp. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and fishing. He is survived by a son, Clifford Cleatis Cooper, Windsor, Mo; 3 daughters, Myrna R. Shirey, Montrose, Co; Sharon L. Ebeling, Chilhowee, Mo; and Charla R. Cummins, Windsor, Mo; 8 grandchildren, Michael Cummins, Crystal Cummins, Cindy Matthes, Susan Kemper, Denise Borg; Ashley Wagoner; Rebecca Rodriguez; and Jennifer Nelson; 2 step-grandsons, Jason Schmitt and Bradley Borg; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Cooper, Raytown, Mo; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Randy “Barney” Cooper; Gary Vincent Cooper; a daughter Raedeana Jean Ramirez; a granddaughter, Lavone Nicole Cooper; and 5 brothers, Clarence, Neal, Joe, Rolla Frank and Wallace; and 2 sisters, Minnie and Lois. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, at Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand officiating. Homer Ray Cooper was born on Sep 8, 1914 at Johnson County, Missouri.
